WILLMAR -- Raymond Richard Dopmeyer, 62, of Willmar died Saturday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Fairview Cemetery.

Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Willmar.

He was born Sept. 12, 1944, in San Francisco, Calif., to Arthur and Mildred (DeJean) Dopmeyer. He attended the Fessenden School, a private school in Massachusetts, Hill Military Academy in Portland, Ore., and graduated from James Madison High School in Portland. He continued his education in several universities in the south. He moved to Willmar in 1976 and completed his associate's degree at Willmar Community College in 1977. He lived at LSS Homes in Willmar and moved to Bethesda Homes in 2003.

He was a member of Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. He was a life member of the American Radio Relay League, the American Philatelic Society, Kandiyohi County Historical Society and the Carver County Historical Society. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Order of the Arrow; attained Ordeal in June of 1987 and Brotherhood in June of 1988. He was a member of the Minnesota Historical Society, the Willmar Area Baseball Boosters Association, and a former member of the Willmar Jaycees.

He is survived by cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
