Raymond to host three Region 9C games Saturday

WILLMAR -- Pairings were announced Monday evening for the upcoming Region 9C amateur baseball playoffs.

Raymond will host three games on Saturday before the tournament moves to Wheaton on Sunday for three more games.

Benson, the Land O' Ducks Teal champion, will meet Land O' Ducks Wood runner-up Clinton at 1:30 p.m. to open the six-team tourney.

Willmar, the Cornbelt South runner-up, and Dumont, winners of the Land O' Ducks Teal League, follow at 4:30 p.m. while Cornbelt South champion Raymond battles Land O' Ducks Teal runner-up Appleton at 7:30 p.m.

The Benson/Clinton winner will play the Dumont/Willmar winner at 1:30 p.m. to open play on Sunday. The 4:30 p.m. game will feature the Raymond/Appleton loser and Benson/Clinton loser as the Raymond/Appleton winner and the Dumont/Willmar loser will close out the day at 7:30 p.m.

Benson will host the remainder of the tournament on Aug. 12-13 with the championship game scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 13.

The two teams advance to the Class C State Tournament, which starts Aug. 17 in Miesville and Red Wing.
