Renville County West senior forward Kayla Eekhoff will miss the next three to four weeks after breaking her right hand. Eekhoff suffered the possible season-ending injury during team practice Monday.
"She tried to tough it out during practice, but she went in to the doctor on Tuesday and found out she will need to sit out at least three weeks," said RCW coach Dale Negen. "We're hoping for her to return for the playoffs, but it will give others the opportunity to step up."
Eekhoff, a two-time All-Area selection in volleyball, is averaging 6.7 points-per-game, but is seventh in the Camden North Conference in assists (5 apg) and 12th in rebounding (10 rpg).
