Teens suffer minor injuries in deer-related crash Thursday

APPLETON -- Two teenagers were taken to Appleton Hospital for treatment of minor injuries suffered in a rollover crash caused by a deer around 10 p.m. Thursday southwest of Appleton.

According to the State Patrol, Logan Tillma, 16, of Milan, was driving a 2008 Pontiac on Highway 119, swerved to miss a deer, overcorrected and went off the roadway. The car entered the west ditch and overturned.

Tillma and his passenger, Joseph Weeding, 15, of Appleton, were both wearing their seatbelts. Also responding were the Lac qui Parle County Sheriff's Office and the Appleton Ambulance.

Driver taken for medical care after crash at Seventh S.W., Becker

WILLMAR -- The driver of one of two vehicles involved in a crash around 2:05 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Becker Avenue and Seventh Street Southwest was taken by private party for treatment of minor injuries.

According to the crash report by the Willmar Police Department, Dawn Ellingson, 34, of Grove City was driving a Chevy Venture van northbound on Seventh Street and collided with a 1995 Toyota Camry driven by Abdi Omar Abdi, 24, of Willmar. Abdi was westbound on Becker Avenue and pulled out in front of the van.

Abdi was cited for failure to yield and for instruction permit violation. Both drivers were alone in their vehicles and both were wearing their seatbelts. Ellingson sought treatment for minor injuries.

Woman hurt in intersection crash at Trott, Sixth Southwest

WILLMAR -- Patricia Garcia, 39, of Willmar, was taken by private vehicle for medical attention after a two-vehicle crash around 10:50 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Trott Avenue and Sixth Street Southwest.

According to the crash report by Willmar police, Garcia was southbound on Sixth Street, stopped for the stop sign and then pulled out in front of a 2002 Oldsmobile driven by Nathan Peters, 24, of Willmar. Peters was westbound on Trott Avenue and was not injured.

ATWATER -- A case of financial transaction card fraud was reported around 12:40 p.m. Friday along Lincoln Street. Someone had made fraudulent charges on an account.
