Theft

NEW LONDON -- A Willmar woman told police Thursday morning that her diamond earrings had been stolen by her boyfriend's wife at a residence in New London. According to the initial police report, the woman said she gave the earrings to her boyfriend to wear, but the man's wife took them and threw them away. Police said the situation was a civil matter.

WILLMAR -- A moving dolly was reported stolen at 10:55 a.m. Thursday from the back of a pickup located in the 1600 block of Richland Avenue Southwest.

WILLMAR -- A Play Station, games and accessories valued at $500 were reported stolen at 10:50 a.m. Thursday from a home in the 200 block of Southeast Third Avenue in New London. The items were believed to have been taken by an individual who had been staying at the home.

WILLMAR -- A 43-year-old Spicer woman was cited Thursday evening for taking $183.31 in merchandise from Cash Wise Foods.

SPICER -- A paddle boat was reported missing and a speedboat ransacked Thursday evening in the 13000 block of Skyline Drive. The paddle boat was later found on Green Lake.

Burglary

WILLMAR -- A garage in the 200 block of Seventh Street Southwest was broken into and a bike was stolen. The incident was reported at 7:08 a.m. Friday.

Assault

LAKE LILLIAN -- A Hutchinson man who said he was assaulted Tuesday at Kandiyohi County Park 2 near Lake Lillian told police he was considering pursuing charges against the assailant, who is his mother-in-law. He was given information about the process for doing so.

Missing child found

WILLMAR -- An 8-year-old boy who was reported missing at 12:23 p.m. Thursday from his home in the 400 block of Juli Street Southeast was found a few minutes later at Willmar Auto Plaza. Employees from the business called police and told them a small boy was there who was crying. The boy, who matched the description of the missing child, was kept at the Plaza while his parents were notified.

Kandiyohi County

* Samuel Zelaya Pineda, 28, of Willmar, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of falsely impersonating another. A second charge of giving a false name to a judicial officer was dismissed.

A pre-sentence investigation was ordered with sentencing scheduled for Oct. 7.

According to the complaint, Willmar police received information from the federal Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Feb. 15 that Pineda was living and working in Willmar under the name Javier Enrique Hernandez-Serrano.

He had appeared in court in May 2007 under that false name and his fingerprints matched FBI records under the Serrano name.
