Landlord arrested for threatening tenant

LAKE LILLIAN -- A 46-year-old Lake Lillian man was arrested Monday night after he threatened a tenant renting an apartment in his home.

According to police reports, a 50-year-old man living in the home had gotten into an argument with his landlord at their home at the 6000 block of Kandiyohi County Road 8 Southeast.

The man locked his door, but the landlord then broke the man's door in. The landlord threatened the tenant and the tenant pulled a gun on the landlord in self defense, police said.

Terroristic threats charges are expected to be filed against the landlord in Kandiyohi County District Court today.

Theft

WILLMAR -- A Rug Doctor was reported stolen from Cash Wise Foods, 1300 Fifth St. S.E. Tuesday afternoon. The machine's estimated worth is $1,075.50.

RAYMOND -- A snowmobile was reported stolen Tuesday morning at the 200 block of First Avenue. The snowmobile is a 2003 Skidoo MXZ600, license plate HH8914.

WILLMAR -- Two guns were reported stolen out of a vehicle that had slid into a ditch. The guns had been stolen while the vehicle owner had left for help. The theft was reported Monday evening. The vehicle had been parked near the intersection of 15th Avenue and 90th Street Southeast.

WILLMAR -- A terrier mix dog worth $500 was reported stolen from Bluebird Pet Store, 1305 First St. S. Monday afternoon.

Car/bus accident

WILLMAR -- Nobody was injured when a vehicle rear-ended a Willmar school bus Tuesday morning as students were on their way to school.

A school bus with 21 elementary school-aged students on it was rear-ended by a 1998 Dodge Caravan driven by Joy Ida Marie Gratz, 32, of Willmar. The bus was driven by Pamela Kay Woltjer, 46, of New London.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Neither driver, nor the students were injured.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Willmar Avenue and 17th Street just after 8 a.m.
