Identity theft

WILLMAR -- The Willmar Police Department received a report from a Fort Myers, Fla., woman over the weekend of a case of identity theft, possibility originating in Willmar. The woman said her husband's cell phone was used to generate a $2,900 bill on Altel. Police are investigating.

Domestic assault

WILLMAR -- A 16-year-old boy was arrested by Willmar police early Saturday morning on a charge of second-degree domestic assault for allegedly assaulting his older sister. The boy was being held Sunday in the Prairie Lakes Youth Programs center.

The youth was arrested after police were called at 1:22 a.m. Saturday to a fish house on Foot Lake. Police said the sister, 26, called reporting a possible broken arm and a broken leg. Police said she was transported by ambulance to Rice Memorial Hospital for treatment.

While police were investigating the assault, they arrested another brother on an outstanding warrant from Pope County.

Accident

BROWNTON -- The Minnesota State Patrol said Kelli J. Sitz, 18, of Cosmos was treated and released after the van in which she was a passenger left the roadway and rolled over at the intersection of U.S. Highway 212 and Division Street in Brownton.

The accident happened at 3:35 p.m. Saturday. The State Patrol report did not list the condition of Sasha M. Popoe, 20, of Cosmos, who was driving the 1996 Dodge Caravan.

The Patrol said the McLeod County Sheriff's Office, the Brownton Fire Department and Glencoe Ambulance assisted at the scene.
