Two treated for minor injuries in Gluek crash
GLUEK -- Two drivers were treated and released for minor injuries suffered in a broadside crash around 8 a.m. Thursday near Gluek.
According to the State Patrol, Thomas W. Peterson, 61, of Raymond, was driving a 1993 Ford west on Chippewa County Road 13. Erin L. Petrick, 27, of Benson, was driving a 2005 Chevy south on State Highway 277. The vehicles collided at the intersection of the roads.
Both were taken to Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital. The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.

WILLMAR -- Two 15-year-old boys were charged with disorderly conduct after a fight in the lunchroom around 8:25 a.m. Thursday at Willmar Senior High School, 2701 30th St. N.E.
Fire call
WILLMAR -- The Willmar Fire Department was called around 11 p.m. Wednesday along the 1400 block of Fifth Street Southwest. The department was on the scene for about 30 minutes and discovered the cause was burned food.
Arrest
ATWATER -- A 45-year-old Atwater man was arrested for driving while impaired around 12:30 a.m. Thursday along the 11200 block of 180th Street Northeast after officers were called to a domestic incident.
WILLMAR -- A 20-year-old Willmar man was arrested for driving while suspended around 9:15 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of 30th Street and 15th Avenue Northwest.

Property damage
WILLMAR -- Damage to a door caused by an attempted break-in was reported around 9 a.m. Thursday along the 1400 block of Fifth Street Southwest.

* Aweys Hassan Yussuf, 33, of Willmar, was sentenced Wednesday to 27 months in prison, which was stayed, seven years of probation, a $1,000 fine and 124 days in jail on a felony charge of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon for an Oct. 17 domestic incident.
Another felony for terrorist threats plus misdemeanor charges of domestic assault were dismissed in a plea agreement. He was also ordered to complete a domestic abuse evaluation, a chemical dependency evaluation and to abide by all current and future orders for protection filed against him. Yussuf was given credit for 124 days already served in jail.
The charges were filed after a Willmar police officer was dispatched on Oct. 17 to an apartment building on the city's southwest side for a domestic incident. A woman there had a cut on her wrist, between 1½ to 2 inches long, that was bleeding. A man, Yussuf, had also called dispatch claiming that he had been cut by the woman and that he had arrived at Rice Memorial Hospital.
The woman said Yussuf was going to go to work but demanded intimate relations with her before he left. They argued, he got a knife from the kitchen, threatened her and cut her with the knife. She said he cut himself badly on the arm with the same knife.

Officers found the knife in the kitchen and went to the hospital to interview Yussuf. He said he broke her cell phone so that she wouldn't talk with other men while he was at work, said she got the knife and stabbed him and claimed he didn't know how she got cut.
The woman reported to law enforcement the next day several more injuries and said there had been a history of domestic abuse in their relationship, but that she hadn't reported it because she was afraid for her safety.
