Crash
WILLMAR - A 27-year-old Atwater man was taken by Willmar Ambulance to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar for treatment of injuries suffered Wednesday afternoon when the vehicle he was driving left Business Highway 71 and struck the “Welcome to Willmar” sign on the north edge of town.
According to the crash report by Willmar police, George Aaron Polston was driving a 2013 Kia Soul southbound on the highway when the vehicle left the roadway and hit the sign. The crash was reported around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Property damage
WILLMAR - Damage to a windshield was reported around 6:20 p.m. Thursday along the 400 block of 30th Street Northwest.
District Court
Kandiyohi County
Corey Ronald Radunz, 30, Emilio Ozornia, 29, and Shawna Dee Loge, 25, all of Willmar, made their first court appearances Thursday on felony drug possession and sale charges.
Unconditional bail was set at $80,000 each for Radunz and Ozornia and at $50,000 for Loge. All three make their next court appearances on May 19.
Radunz faces two felony counts, of third- and fifth-degree possession, plus lesser counts of fleeing a peace officer, possession of synthetic cannabinoid and drug paraphernalia. Loge faces a third-degree possession charge, plus possession of synthetic cannabinoid, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Ozornia faces two felony counts of fourth-degree sale and fifth-degree possession.
According to the complaints, a CEE-VI Drug Task force agent was conducting surveillance Tuesday along the 1600 block of Seventh Street Southwest and saw Ozornia, who had an outstanding warrant, in a vehicle. When the officer approached Ozornia, Ozornia had $685 cash in his hand. Police had also been informed by a citizen that Ozornia had been observed in the same vehicle sorting drugs into baggies.
Radunz was nearby when the officer approached and arrested Ozornia, and Radunz fled behind a garage before he was held by the officer at gunpoint and taken into custody. Officers found 5 grams of meth on Radunz and a torn bag containing 0.5 grams of meth behind the garage.
Loge was in a nearby vehicle and allowed officers to search her and the car. Syringes, synthetic marijuana and marijuana were found in the car and a 3.5-gram bag of meth was located in Loge’s pocket.
Officers also found a scale with meth residue and other drug-related items when they searched the vehicle that Ozornia was in when he was arrested.
