NEW LONDON -- Damage to a gate was reported around 1:11 p.m. Tuesday along the 3000 block of 240th Avenue Northwest.
Fire
NEW LONDON -- The New London Fire Department was called to a car fire around 3 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of 150th Avenue and County Road 5. Firefighters were on scene for about 90 minutes.
Dog bite

WILLMAR -- Willmar Police are investigating an incident reported at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday that a 26-year-old Willmar man had been bitten in the face by a pit bull. The incident occurred somewhere east of Super America on either Second Street or Third Street Southeast.
The victim told police he had stopped to tie his shoe when he was attacked by the dog. The victim, who punched and kicked the dog, was taken to the hospital by private party. The residence of the dog is unknown at this time.
Police are seeking assistance from the public in finding the dog and the owner.
Thefts
WILLMAR -- The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office received a report of the theft of an iPod around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday along the 4800 block of Highway 9 Northeast, New London. The sheriff's office also received a report of the theft of a Sirius satellite radio from a Ford F-250 pickup parked in Pennock. Entry to the truck was gained by breaking a window.
WILLMAR -- The rear window and the side rear passenger window were broken Thursday on a Honda parked in the 700 block of Park Avenue Northwest and some items were tampered with, according to a report provided to Willmar Police. Also, a resident in the 400 block of Litchfield Avenue Southeast reported a front tire was stolen from his vehicle. He said the jack was still under the car.

- Kimberly Kay Barocio, 38, of Raymond, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a fifth-degree drug charge dating back to 2005.
As part of a plea agreement, three first-degree drug sales charges, plus a gross misdemeanor charge for child endangerment, were dismissed. She will be sentenced Dec. 23.
The charges were filed after Barocio and Mattilde Augustin Villegas, 29, were involved in a methamphetamine sale with an informant for the CEE-VI Drug Task Force on Feb. 8, 2005.
The complaint said the informant set up a buy and went to Barocio's home, where Villegas was also located.
Barocio showed the informant three ounces of meth, but said it wasn't "glass," the purest form of meth.
Barocio then left the house with Villegas to get the drugs and returned in 45 minutes. The informant bought 14.5 grams of meth for $550.
A search warrant was executed at the home on Feb. 18. Barocio was searched and as she reached in her pocket to take out cigarettes, she dropped a small bag of meth on the ground.
She said all the drugs in her home were her ex-husband's. She said she was recently divorced and her ex had moved to Washington state.

But the complaint says she then admitted to dealing methamphetamine and marijuana a handful of times during the previous six months. While police were searching the home, the complaint says, a person called asking for drugs. The person came over and told officers that they'd called wanting to get drugs from Barocio. Officers located drug paraphernalia, about 20 grams of marijuana, a tan powder substance weighing 1.53 grams and a 28.27 gram bag of white powder, neither of which was identified in the complaint.
- Olga Star Alvarez, 27, of Willmar, was sentenced Wednesday to 13 months in prison on a felony charge of escape from custody for walking away from her community work service job in September 2005.
The sentence will be served concurrently with another sentence, for a property damage case also dating back to 2005.
According to the escape from custody complaint, Alvarez received a stay on her property damage sentence, served time in the county jail and went to in-patient treatment, but failed to follow program expectations. She was arrested and ordered to serve more time in jail. While on community work service, she walked away from her job at Goodwill Industries in Willmar.
The property damage sentence was for a June 2005 incident that involved Alvarez vandalizing a vehicle, assaulting a woman and driving a vehicle into a garage door.
