Driver faces DWI after driving car into Green Lake

SPICER -- A Paynesville man faces a charge of fourth- degree driving while intoxicated after he accidentally drove his car into Green Lake at 1:31 a.m. on Friday.

A friend of the 21-year-old suspect reported that the man had driven his green Bonneville past the Bible Camp and followed a gravel road before rolling his car into the lake. The Kandiyohi County emergency response unit was notified of the incident and was to prepare for a rescue, but the driver was able to exit the car safely.

Following the incident, the Paynesville Police Department located the suspect at his residence.

The vehicle was located on County Road 105 just west of the Tri County Road. It was towed to Paynesville.

Vandalism

WILLMAR --A Willmar man had the tires of his vehicle slashed Thursday night. The incident was reported on the 500 block of Northwest Lakeland Drive.

WILLMAR -- A door and window were damaged at a property on the 100 block of North Lake Avenue. The owner reported the incident Friday morning.

WILLMAR -- A window was shot out Thursday night at a business on the 1000 block of East Highway 12. Several windows were also shot out the night at the admission's building on the Ridgewater College campus.

Theft

WILLMAR -- Three bicycles were stolen Thursday from a residence on the 1100 block of Southwest Litchfield Avenue in Willmar, the owner told police on Friday.

Woman held for taking vehicle

LITCHFIELD -- A 44-year-old Litchfield woman is in Meeker County Jail on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, criminal damage to property, driving after revocation and failure to report a property damage accident. She was apprehended on Thursday after police responded to a report of a vehicle that had been taken from a Litchfield residence and returned in damaged condition.
