- A Willmar man was arraigned Friday on charges he beat up a woman Thursday night.
According to the criminal complaint, David Manuel Pacheco, 34, beat up a woman Thursday night at their home in Regency Estates East.
Willmar Police were called to their home after receiving a report of a domestic assault going on there.
The woman told police that Pacheco had been drinking and had begun arguing with her, the complaint says. He slapped her, hit her and choked her, the complaint says. He also threatened to kill her, the complaint says. Finally, with the help of a friend, the victim was able to escape, the complaint says.

When police arrived at Pacheco's residence, he wasn't "going anywhere," and had to be sprayed with mace in order to be arrested, the complaint says.
He faces one count of domestic assault by strangulation, one count of terroristic threats and one count of domestic assault, the complaint says.
Friday, his unconditional bail was set at $20,000 and his unconditional bail was set at $2,000.
His next court date is set for Jan. 17.
- Three people were arraigned Friday on charges that they had drugs in their residence.
According to the criminal complaint, CEE-VI Drug Task Force agents searched the home of Jesus Valdez Leyva Jr., 27, Jorge Luis Leyva, 20, and Maria Erika Leyva, 24, on a search warrant on Thursday.
In the home, police found two 900 gram bricks of marijuana, a 164 gram bag of marijuana and a 375 gram bag of marijuana, the complaint says. Police also found paraphernalia associated with the sale of marijuana, the complaint says. There were four young children in the house at the time of the search, the complaint says.
Jesus Leyva, in an interview with police, said, that all the marijuana found was his, the complaint says.

Jesus Leyva faces one count of fifth-degree controlled substance crime and one count of child endangerment
His unconditional bail was set at $15,000 and his conditional bail was set at $8,000.
Maria and Jorge both face one count of fifth-degree controlled substance crime - liabilities of the crimes of another and one count of child endangerment.
Each of their unconditional bails was set at $10,000 or they were given the option to be released on their own recognizance under probationary conditions.
All of the defendants are scheduled to be in court next on Jan. 17.
- A Litchfield man was arraigned Monday on charges he helped in burglarizing an Atwater home.
According to the criminal complaint, Antonio Franco, 31, drove a vehicle in a burglary in November.
An Atwater woman called police after finding she'd been robbed by an acquaintance on Nov. 5. She'd woke up in the morning to a loud bang and found the acquaintance standing in her kitchen, the complaint says. She walked the acquaintance outside and saw Franco in a vehicle parked out front, the complaint says. The woman saw several items in the back of Franco's vehicle, and realized that her acquaintance had stolen cash, tapes, a CD player, food and other items from her home.

The total value of the items was $599.50.
Franco faces one count of first-degree burglary - liability for the crimes of another, one count of theft - liability for crimes of another, and one count of criminal damage to property - liability for the crimes of another.
Monday, his unconditional bail was set at $15,000 and his conditional bail was set at $2,000.
- A Willmar man was arraigned Monday on charges he sold 29 grams of methamphetamine to an informant working for the CEE-VI Drug Task Force.
According to the criminal complaint, Erasmo Ozornia Sr., 49, sold a total of 29 grams of methamphetamine to an informant working for CEE-VI on Nov. 2.
The informant purchased 29 grams of methamphetamine from Ozornia for $1,200, the complaint says.
Ozornia faces one count of first-degree controlled substance crime.
His unconditional bail was set at $100,000 and his conditional bail was set at $50,000.

His next court date is set for Jan. 17.
Pedestrian hit
WILLMAR -- A woman crossing the street was hit by a car Monday afternoon at the intersection of Lakeland Drive and Becker Avenue Southeast.
Cheryl Bender, 54, of Willmar was crossing the street when she was struck by a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Elizabeth Danielson, 27, of New London.
Bender was taken to the Rice Memorial Hospital by ambulance, where she was treated and released.
Theft
WILLMAR -- A vehicle was reported broken into and several items were reported stolen Sunday afternoon at the 600 block of Sixth Street Southwest.
WILLMAR -- A Sony CD player and speakers were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at the 7000 block of 28th Avenue Southwest Sunday evening.

WILLMAR -- A Kenwood stereo, several electrical tools and a bucket of Dewalt tools were reported stolen Sunday afternoon at the 600 block of Monongalia Avenue Southwest.
DWI enforcement leads to 20 arrests
WILLMAR -- Twenty impaired drivers were caught in 15 days during a Kandiyohi County-wide law enforcement crack down on impaired drivers.
According to Willmar Police Officer Marilee Dorn, five of the 20 that were caught were at more than 0.20 percent blood alcohol concentration, automatically raising the severity of their charges.
Also included in the DWI arrests, there was one driver who had a child as a passenger and three whose intoxication resulted in crashes, Dorn said.
The crack down was part of the statewide Safe and Sober mobilization from Dec. 16 through Dec. 31.
