WILLMAR -- A garden tractor and trailer were reported stolen Sunday morning from Redeemer Lutheran Church. The tractor was last seen on its trailer on Saturday afternoon. Willmar police are investigating.

ATWATER -- The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office is investigating a break-in, theft and vandalism reported Sunday at the gravel pit building in rural Atwater. The burglary apparently took place some time Saturday night.

Accidents

NEW LONDON -- An 8-year-old boy was hurt Saturday morning after being hit by a vehicle as he walked across South Main Street and Second Avenue in downtown New London.

Samuel Stageberg, of New London, was taken by ambulance to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Melissa A. Fox of New London.

Gunshot wound

NEW LONDON -- A 47-year-old New London man suffered a gunshot wound this weekend when his 9-mm handgun accidentally went off, striking him in the upper leg.

The incident was reported Sunday afternoon at the man's home in rural New London. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office investigated.
