Kandiyohi teen killed in crash
COTTONWOOD -- A 17-year-old Kandiyohi girl was killed in a two-vehicle crash around 9 p.m. Wednesday along state Highway 23 near Cottonwood.
According to the State Patrol, Morgan L. Cline, 17, was driving a 2002 Saturn that was rearended by a 1999 Subaru driven by Courtney K. Voorhees, 29, of Cottonwood. The crash happened north of Cottonwood.
Cline was dead at the scene. A passenger in her vehicle, Dustin Woodworth, 18, of Marshall, was transported to the hospital in Marshall with head injuries. Voorhees was then transferred to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., for treatment of internal injuries.
The Cottonwood Ambulance and Fire Department, along with the North Memorial Ambulance, responded to the scene.

Bicyclist to hospital after crash
WILLMAR -- A 29-year-old Atwater man was taken by ambulance to Rice Memorial Hospital after a vehicle-bicycle crash around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Benson Avenue and Fourth Street Southwest.
According to the crash report, Michael Shoutz was riding a bike along the right side of the street and turning left onto Benson Avenue when he collided with a westbound 2007 Chrysler Pacifica driving by Frances L. Van Heuveln, 65, of rural Spicer. She was not injured.
According to the report, Shoutz suffered non-incapacitating injuries.
ID Theft
WILLMAR -- A case of identity theft was reported around 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Law Enforcement Center.
Property damage
PENNOCK -- Graffiti on a garage was reported around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday along Atlantic Avenue Northeast.

WILLMAR -- Graffiti on a light pole was reported around 8:50 a.m. Thursday along the 400 block of 15th Street Southwest.
WILLMAR -- A damaged door and window screen were reported around 9 a.m. Thursday along the 1200 block of Olaf Avenue Northwest. The caller reported that someone had attempted to enter the home.
WILLMAR -- Damage to a soda vending machine was reported around 2 p.m. Thursday along the 1000 block of U.S. Highway 12 East. Someone had broken into a machine and taken the money inside.
Theft
WILLMAR -- The theft of a digital camera was reported around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday along the 400 block of Lakeland Drive Southeast.
WILLMAR -- The theft of a cell phone was reported around noon Wednesday at the Willmar Senior High School, 2700 30th St. N.E.
Underage consumption
WILLMAR -- Six people were cited for underage consumption around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday along the 300 block of 11th Street Northwest. Others at the loud party were warned about driving their vehicles across the neighbor's yard.

Fire call
WILLMAR -- The Willmar Fire Department was called around 3:40 a.m. Thursday to the 1200 block of 24th Street Northwest. A box frame was on fire in a large garbage bin. The department remained on the scene for about 25 minutes.

* Digna Xiomara Munoz, 33, of Willmar, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a felony charge of aggravated forgery for using another woman's identity to obtain a state identification card.
As part of a plea agreement, nine other felony charges of forgery, perjury, check forgery and aggravated forgery will be dismissed. She will be sentenced Dec. 15.
One set of charges was filed after the Willmar Police Department began investigating the use of a false name by someone identified as Munoz in January. The woman had been identified by agents from the federal Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement as a Honduran national who was in the country illegally. She worked at Jennie-O Turkey Store under the identity of Carmen Yadria Mayol-Soto. Local officials also obtained a photo of Munoz from ICE.
An inquiry to the state Department of Public Safety revealed a driver's license/identification card application in the Mayol-Soto name in July 2006. The photo on the ID matched that of Munoz.

Officers received several employment documents from Jennie-O Turkey Store, signed in October 2006 in the Mayol-Soto name. The photo connected to the employment documents matched that of Munoz.
Another set of charges was filed in March 2005, stemming from a March 30, 2005, traffic stop of a vehicle by the Willmar Police Department. The car, stopped for an improper lane change, contained three females and a male who didn't speak English. The officer, through an interpreter, learned that each person had a false identity that was used to work at Jennie-O. Munoz was a passenger in the vehicle, and first gave her name as Grisselle Hernandez, but later produced identification as Munoz. The women told the officer they had paid $5,000 for their false identity paperwork and to be smuggled from Honduras into the United States.
* Emmanuel Briones, 25, of Willmar, pleaded guilty Monday to a felony charge of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct for having sexual relations with a then-15 year-old girl.
As part of a plea agreement, another felony criminal sexual charge will be dismissed.
The charges were filed against Briones and Augustine Sanchez, 19, of Willmar, after Willmar police learned of the July 14 incident. Two girls, both 15 at the time, were brought to a medical clinic by their parents/guardians on the evening of July 15. The girls had run away the previous day.
The girls told an investigator they had gone to a house on Olena Avenue. At some point during the evening, the girls allegedly had sex with Sanchez and Briones. The girls told Willmar police they stayed at the house until 6:30 a.m. the next day, when Briones walked them home.
The charges against Sanchez were dismissed by the prosecuting attorney on Sept. 24. According to court documents, the dismissal was necessary because the 15-year-old victim in the case had told Sanchez she was 16 years old.
