Crashes

OLIVIA -- One man spent the night in the hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Olivia Thursday evening.

A pickup driven by Timothy Kopel, 33, of Olivia and an SUV driven by Andrew Berg, 19, of Olivia collided at the entrance to the Sheep Shedde Inn and Max's Bar and Grill on the west edge of Olivia. Berg and Kopel sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene, according to a release from the Renville County Sheriff's Department.

Adam Keyser, 24, of Olivia was a passenger in Berg's vehicle. He was extricated from the vehicle and taken to the Renville County Hospital by ambulance. A nursing supervisor at the hospital said Keyser was discharged from the hospital on Friday.

Agencies responding to the crash include the Sheriff's Department, the Olivia Police Department, the Olivia Ambulance Service and Olivia Fire and Rescue.

CANBY -- A Minnetonka man was injured in a one-vehicle crash early Friday southeast of Canby.

Roger Nelson of Minnetonka was transported to the Canby Hospital when his vehicle was found in a creek bed about 4.5 miles southeast of Canby, according to a release from the yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office. According to the release, Nelson apparently drove off the road and into the creek bed.

DAWSON -- Two teenagers were injured in a one-vehicle crash early Friday morning.

A vehicle driven by Zachary Robert Fisk, 18, of Dawson, went in the ditch and hit a field approach on Highway 212 two miles east of Dawson. Fisk and a passenger, Caitlin Rae Gilley, 16, of Boyd were taken to the Dawson Hospital, according to a news release from the Minnesota State Patrol.

Fisk was treated and released. Gilley was held for observation with a sore neck and back. Neither was wearing a seat belt, according to the release.

Arrests

LITCHFIELD -- Devin Blom, 18, formerly of Cosmos, was arrested Wednesday evening on a burglary charge, according to a news release from the Meeker County Sheriff's Office.

He was arrested in connection with the burglary of a rural Litchfield home.

According to the release, a burglary was reported to the Sheriff's Office the afternoon of Nov. 9. The homeowners' children arrived home from school, and they retreated into a locked bedroom after they saw the suspect in the home, according to the release. The children called for assistance, and the suspect left the home before authorities arrived.

Blom is currently being held in the Meeker County Jail with bail set at $35,000 conditional bond or $70,000 unconditional bond, according to the release.

WILLMAR -- A 19-year-old Willmar man was arrested late Thursday after a foot pursuit involving a Willmar Police officer. The man was arrested for obstructing the legal process, fleeing an officer on foot and possession of a small amount of marijuana.
