Accident blamed on slush

WILLMAR -- The season's first snowfall is blamed in one accident reported at 10:30 a.m. Friday on Minnesota Highway 40 in Lac qui Parle County.

Peter Bendel, 52, of Madison, suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle rollover accident, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

He was driving a 1991 GMC Sonoma on a slush covered road when his wheels left the tracks in the snow and he lost control of it.

WILLMAR -- A 22-year-old man faces possible theft charges after being identified on video that showed him shoplifting goods at the Little Dukes store, 1300 Southeast Fifth Street on 9:38 p.m. Thursday.

Vehicle tampering

WILLMAR -- Police are investigating a report of motor vehicle tampering after a wheel had apparently been loosened so that if fell off as a man drove his vehicle from the Wal-Mart store, 700 Southeast 19th Avenue, around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
