Crash in Pennock injures one
PENNOCK - A car crash Friday involving four vehicles in Pennock sent a man to the hospital for what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash was reported at 9 a.m. Friday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and Second Street Southeast. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol responded.
According to the State Patrol report, a rear-end type of accident caused four cars to collide.
Dawn Jean Meyer, 40, of Kerkhoven was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 12 when she collided with the vehicle in front of her, driven by Blaine Marcus Rosendahl, 23, of Fargo, N.D. Rosendahl was stopped for a flag worker at a construction zone.
According to the State Patrol’s report, Meyer said a brake failure caused her to collide with Rosendahl’s vehicle.
Rosendahl’s vehicle then rear-ended a third vehicle, driven by Gale Ann Mittelstaedt, 69, of Ortonville.
Mittelstaedt’s vehicle then collided with a fourth vehicle. The driver of the final vehicle reportedly checked the back of his car and exited the scene.
A passenger traveling in Mittlestaedt’s vehicle, John Earl Semrau Jr., was transported to Rice Memorial Hospital by Willmar Ambulance, the Patrol said.
Also responding at the scene was Pennock Fire and Rescue.
WILLMAR - Theft of a Samsung Galaxy tablet was reported Monday morning on the 1800 block of Willmar Avenue Southwest. It was suspected to have been taken from a bedroom at the residence sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.
ATWATER - Theft of a sheet metal brake was reported Monday afternoon on the 100 block of Lincoln Street North in Atwater. The item was reported to have been stolen several months ago.
Criminal damage to property
WILLMAR - Graffiti was found on the back side of a telephone box Monday evening on the 500 block of Litchfield Avenue Southeast in Willmar.
