Traffic stop leads to arrest

WILLMAR - On Monday morning, a Willmar police officer stopped a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old man near the intersection of First Street and 37th Avenue North in Willmar. The man was arrested just before 10 a.m. for driving after revocation and no proof of insurance.

Employee theft

WILLMAR - A district manager from the Holiday Station Store called police around 2:15 p.m. Monday to report employee theft from the store on the 800 block of Litchfield Avenue Southwest. The man told police that a store manager there admitted to stealing $2,500.

Shed burglary

WILLMAR - A storage shed on the 3900 block of Eighth Street Northeast in Willmar was burglarized Sunday night, a man reported to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office just before 9 a.m Monday. The man told police the shed had been gone through but it did not appear that anything was stolen.

Lost and found

ATWATER - A propane tank, gas can and miscellaneous tools were turned into the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office just after 1 p.m. Monday from near the intersection of Kandi-Meeker Road and 45th Avenue Southeast in Atwater.

Tools stolen after Kandiyohi break-in

KANDIYOHI - Tools were stolen from a truck and shed on the 100 block of Dudley Avenue North in Kandiyohi, a man at the address reported to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office around 2:45 p.m. Monday.

Man uninjured after hitting power pole near Sacred Heart

SACRED HEART - A 49-year-old Marshall man escaped injury early Sunday morning when his car left an icy U.S. Highway 212 near Sacred Heart and crashed into a power pole.

According to the Renville County Sheriff's Office, Abdirahman Ali had been driving his 2007 Chevrolet Impala west on the highway near 120th Street. Around 4 a.m., Ali lost control of the Impala on the slippery, heavily snow-covered roads, the Sheriff's Office said, entered the ditch on the south side of the highway and struck a power pole.

Ali, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was not injured and declined medical attention at the scene, the Sheriff's Office said.

His Impala was damaged, but the power pole was not.

The Renville County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the crash.

Child maltreatment

GROVE CITY - At 7:07 p.m. Friday, the Meeker County Sheriff's Office took a report of child maltreatment at a residence on Asta Avenue West in Grove City.

DWI arrest

DARWIN TOWNSHIP - At 2:22 a.m. Sunday, the Meeker County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle near the intersection of County Road 34 and state Highway 24 in Darwin Township. A deputy arrested the driver, a 31-year-old Litchfield woman, for third-degree driving while impaired.
