Man arrested on possible assault charges

WILLMAR — A 29-year-old man was arrested for assault around 1:28 a.m. Monday on the 500 block of Augusta Avenue Southeast in Willmar.

According to the incident report, a person was reportedly assaulted with a bat that was used by the suspect.

Several police officers, along with an ambulance, responded to the call.

Information sought on Clarkfield fire

CLARKFIELD — Authorities are seeking information on a fire at a vacant home early Wednesday morning in Clarkfield.

The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that a house fire was reported at 3:36 a.m. Nov. 27 in the 500 block of Ninth Avenue in Clarkfield. No one had been living there, and there were no injuries reported in the fire.


The cause is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office and the Sheriff's Office.

The Clarkfield Fire Department was assisted by the Boyd Fire Department, Clarkfield Ambulance and the Sheriff's Office.
