Arrest
WILLMAR — A 26-year-old man was arrested for passing counterfeit money Monday afternoon on the 2500 block of U.S. Highway 12 East.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the man was listed as in custody in the Kandiyohi County Jail awaiting charges related to his arrest.
Fraud
WILLMAR — A person reported Monday afternoon that they had paid $2,400 to rent a house they found on Facebook.
According to the report, the seller gave a fake address and blocked the reporter’s phone number.

Car fire in southwest Willmar spreads to nearby garage
A car fire Monday night in southwest Willmar spread to a nearby garage. The car was a total loss. No injuries were reported at the scene, but a Willmar Fire Department news release said there was damage to the exterior and interior of the garage and vehicles parked inside it.

Pennock man sentenced to 65 months for selling drugs
A Pennock man was sentenced to more than five years in prison after drug agents allegedly found more than $36,000 in cash in his house, some of it cash that had been used by informants to make drug purchases. A woman also charged in the incident had all of her charges dismissed.

Park Rapids man killed in car crash south of Blackduck
Colton Erickson of Park Rapids is dead after a two-vehicle collision on Sunday evening on U.S. Highway 71, south of Blackduck.
