Fire destroys barn near Clarkfield
CLARKFIELD - A barn was destroyed in an early morning fire Sunday near Clarkfield.
Straw bales inside the barn were also destroyed, but all the animals were able to escape, according to the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire was reported at 6:40 a.m. Sunday at 4407 Highway 67, two miles east of Clarkfield.
The structure was engulfed in flames when crews arrived, but the Clarkfield Fire Department was able to quickly put out the fire.
The Clarkfield Ambulance and the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
Assault
SPICER - Two people were arrested following assaults that were reported early Sunday morning at Zorbaz on Green Lake in Spicer.
According to the initial report filed with the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, a 45-year-old male was arrested at 1:39 a.m. for fighting with bouncers in the bar’s parking lot.
A 40-year-old woman was also reportedly placed under citizens’ arrest at
1:57 a.m.
KANDIYOHI - An 18-year old woman was arrested for assault at 9 p.m. at a home in the 6000 block of 15th Avenue Northeast in Kandiyohi.
Theft
NEW LONDON - The theft of a motorcycle, camper and trailer were reported Monday from the 19000 block of 62 Street Northeast.
Fraud
WILLMAR - A local construction company told law enforcement Monday that their business name and address is being used for fraudulent purposes. According to the initial police report, Marcus Construction said they have heard from at least 10 people who received packages that included cashier’s checks. The return address on the package included the Willmar construction company.
Vandalism
WILLMAR - Undetermined damage was reported Monday morning to a pickup located in the 600 block of Third Street Southwest.
