Firefighters squelch fire in shed near Norway Lake
NEW LONDON - Firefighters extinguished a blaze that damaged a shed near Norway Lake in near zero-degree weather on Saturday afternoon.
The fire was in the attic and walls of the large, approximately 30- by 30-foot shed at 18730 County Road 5 Northwest, New London, when firefighters arrived at the scene, according to New London Fire Chief Anthony Rupp. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze and prevent the total loss of the structure and contents.
The New London and Sunburg fire departments, New London Ambulance, Sunburg First Responders and Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene.

Two hurt in Renville County crash
OLIVIA - Two drivers were injured when their vehicles collided at 10:39 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of County Roads 6 and 17 in Renville County.
The Renville County Sheriff's Office reported that Kathleen Zaske, 63, of Renville, and Dinny Yang, 24, of Walnut Grove, were both transported to the RC Hospital in Olivia for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
According to the accident report, Yang was driving a 1996 Toyota 4-Runner east on County Road 17 and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with County Road 6. The 4-Runner collided with a 2016 Hyundai Accent driven by Zaske. It had been proceeding southbound on County Road 6.
The Renville Ambulance, Renville Fire Department, and the Renville County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene. The accident is under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.

NEW LONDON - A Willmar man reported Sunday that $1,500 was stolen from a lockbox on the 300 block of Litchfield Avenue Southeast.
WILLMAR - Two large security cameras were reported stolen Friday from the 3300 block of First Street South in Willmar.

Garbage dumped on property
NEW LONDON - A property owner on the 4700 block of Highway 9 Northeast, New London, reported Saturday discovering four large bags had been dumped on the property.
