Weekend fire destroys house in Belgrade
BELGRADE - Fire destroyed a house near Belgrade Saturday night.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office said the blaze was reported at about 9 p.m. by someone who saw smoke coming from the building, located at 24256 County Road 13.
The Belgrade Police Department was the first to arrive and saw visible flames in the basement. It was unknown initially if anyone was inside the house but authorities were able to contact the homeowner and determine no one was inside.

Despite efforts by firefighters from Belgrade, Brooten, Elrosa and Lake Henry, the house was a total loss. Crews remained on the scene until 4:30 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office and Brooten Ambulance also were at the scene. Casey's General Store and Coop's Corner gas station of Belgrade donated water and food for the firefighters.
Fires
WILLMAR - A stovetop fire set off the alarm at a Willmar apartment building Saturday night.
The small fire was reported at 10:45 p.m. in the 1400 block of 24th Street Northwest and was put out by the Willmar Fire Department.
Vehicle goes through ice at Spicer access
SPICER - A driver and passenger escaped unharmed when their car went through the ice Saturday morning on Green Lake near the Spicer public access.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office was notified at around 10:30 a.m. that a vehicle was partially submerged about 200 yards east of the access.

The adult male driver and juvenile female passenger were able to exit the vehicle without injuries, the Sheriff's Office said.
It was the second time in recent days that a vehicle has gone through the ice in this area. Two ice fishermen had to climb out of their truck Jan. 19 after it broke through the ice a couple hundred yards east of the public access.
Rescue and emergency response personnel from several agencies happened to be nearby because of the annual Polar Plunge on Saturday. The Sheriff's Office, Spicer Fire Department, New London Ambulance Service, Spicer First Responders, Willmar Ambulance Service, Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad and Willmar Police Department all provided assistance.
Crash
ATWATER - A teenage driver sustained minor injuries in a crash Saturday morning at the intersection of Kandiyohi County Roads 2 and 20 south of Atwater.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office said a 2003 Chevrolet pickup, driven by a 16-year-old male from rural Atwater, was eastbound on County Road 20 when it collided with a 2017 Ford pickup that was northbound on County Road 2 and driven by a 38-year-old man from Willmar.
The teen driver was slightly injured and was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar by a private party, the Sheriff's Office said. The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.
Vandalism

WILLMAR - Fish houses were damaged in a pair of incidents reported Sunday on local lakes.
A fish house on Eagle Lake was vandalized and some items inside were stolen.
The other report came from South Long Lake and involved two fish houses that were both vandalized. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
Theft
LAKE LILLIAN - A vehicle parked at the Lake Lillian boat access was broken into Saturday and several items stolen.
Some of the belongings were later found a short distance away, scattered in a ditch along County Road 8. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
