WILLMAR — A 19-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday morning on the 400 block of 15th Avenue Southwest.

According to the report, the man pointed what appeared to be a flare gun at the victim’s face and said he would kill her.

WILLMAR — A 20-year-old man was arrested Monday night during a traffic stop on the 400 block of 30th Street Northwest.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the man was in custody in the Kandiyohi County Jail on felony and gross misdemeanor warrants.


HAWICK — A 50-year-old man was arrested Monday evening following a verbal argument with his wife on the 22000 block of 141st Street Northeast.

According to the report, the man had a warrant out of Stearns County. He was transported to Paynesville where he was transferred to the custody of a Stearns County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

Former Albany, Minnesota, teacher pleads guilty to sexually assaulting teenage student

ST. CLOUD — A former teacher and coach from Albany Public Schools pleaded guilty Monday to felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct following a report that he sexually assaulted a student multiple times over the course of a year.

DULUTH — A Duluth man has been charged in connection with the death of a 34-year-old St. Paul man found in Lake Superior near Grand Portage, Minn.

1 killed in Elgin, Minn., helicopter crash

ELGIN — A 40-year-old Texas man was killed Monday, July 19, when the four-seat helicopter he was piloting in Elgin, Minn., crashed in a field.

Colorado man drowns in Boundary Waters

GRAND MARAIS — A 73-year-old Colorado man apparently drowned Monday on Loon Lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness after his canoe capsized during a thunderstorm.

PARK RAPIDS — Honor the Earth Executive Director Winona LaDuke and six other women were arrested Monday afternoon, July 19, during a protest in front of the pending Enbridge Line 3 replacement near the Shell River in Wadena County.

Railway reports hundreds of gallons of fuel spilled near St. Paul park

ST. PAUL — A diesel fuel spill at the Canadian Pacific rail yard in Pig’s Eye Regional Park in St. Paul recently sent hazmat crews scrambling to keep hundreds of gallons of fuel from entering Pig’s Eye Lake.
