Level three sex offender moves to Willmar

WILLMAR — The Willmar Police Department has notified community residents that a level three sex offender has moved to 300 block of Fourth Street Southwest.

According to the department’s fact sheet, James Nicholas Dahlager, 39, was convicted in engaging in sexual contact, including sexual touching, with a female child he knew.

A level three offender is the highest risk category in Minnesota, classified as a high risk of re-offense, and is required to register with law enforcement. This individual has served the sentence imposed on them by the court and is transitioning into the community. This notification is not intended to increase fear but rather raise awareness.

Dahlager is described as a white male with a medium build standing at 5 foot, 7 inches; brown hair and green eyes; about 195 pounds.


WILLMAR — A 27-year-old man was arrested around 4:54 p.m. Monday following a read-end crash in a drive thru on the 700 block of First Street South in Willmar.



WILLMAR — A theft was reported around 6:37 p.m. Monday on the 500 block of Charlotte Street Southeast in Willmar.

WILLMAR — Theft by shoplifting was reported around 2:17 p.m. Monday on the 1300 block of Fifth Street Southeast in Willmar.

Windows smashed

WILLMAR — A caller reported their windows being smashed around 5:17 p.m. Monday on the 1100 block of Lake Avenue Northwest in Willmar.
