Bicycle accident
WILLMAR -- Emergency personnel responded to a report Thursday evening of an accident involving a bicycle ridden by a 9-year-old boy and a motor vehicle. The incident was reported at 9 p.m. in the 430 block of 30th Street Northwest. No further information was immediately available from the Willmar Police Department.
Fourth of July fireworks
WILLMAR -- Law enforcement in Willmar and throughout Kandiyohi County fielded numerous reports of fireworks being shot off late into the evening over the holiday, but there were no serious incidents reported.
There were also numerous verbal warnings issued for traffic-related stops and several alcohol-related incidents, including a call from one individual at 3:16 a.m. Friday who was trying to report an assault but was "so intoxicated" that he couldn't be understood. The report said the individual would call back when he was sober.
Arrest
NEW LONDON -- A 35-year-old man was arrested early Thursday in New London on charges of driving while impaired and drug-related charges. The incident was reported at 7:57 a.m. in the 200 block of Main Street Northwest.
