KANDIYOHI — A 44-year-old man was arrested Wednesday afternoon for domestic assault by strangulation on the corner of Kandiyohi County Road 8 and 30th Avenue Northeast.

WILLMAR — A 42-year-old woman was arrested late Wednesday night at an address associated with the Lakeview Inn on the 1200 block of Business 71 North. According to the report, a “drunk woman” was there “causing chaos” and “throwing things.”

PENNOCK — A red Ford Fusion was reported stolen Thursday morning from the 100 block of First Street South.

SPICER — The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance Thursday morning at the Spicer City Hall.


According to Kandiyohi County Sheriff Eric Holien, a person was loudly expressing to city staff their discontent over code enforcement and action.

The person left without further incident after law enforcement arrived.


ATWATER — A theft was reported early Thursday morning on the 300 block of Washington Avenue West.

Willmar man accused of biting, punching and choking girlfriend

WILLMAR — A Willmar man is facing domestic assault charges related to a May incident in which he is accused of biting and punching his girlfriend, according to court documents.

Body found after man attempted to rescue children from St. Louis River

DULUTH — The body of a 31-year-old man from Superior, Wis., was recovered from the St. Louis River on Wednesday evening, June 9, after he attempted to bring two children to safety in a water emergency earlier that afternoon.

Boy’s body pulled from Mississippi River in St. Paul

ST. PAUL — Family members have identified the boy who drowned in the Mississippi River as Ashok Pradhan, a 12-year-old from St. Paul who slipped while wading Monday and was swept away by the current.

ST. PAUL — A former Minnesota corrections sergeant was sentenced to 120 days jail and 7 years probation Wednesday, June 9, for trading a McDonald’s meal for sex with an inmate.
