Pennock woman injured in accident

GROVE CITY — A Pennock woman was injured Thursday afternoon in an accident on U.S. Highway 12 east of Grove City.

According to the State Patrol, Amiah Leigh Akerson, 20, was eastbound in a 2012 Ford Focus when her vehicle and a 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup came into contact as the pickup was turning left on 560th Avenue.

The driver of the pickup, Daryl Nelson Barker, 41, of Grove City, was not injured.

Akerson's injuries were described as non-life-threatening. The report lists Mayo Clinic as the health care facility where she is being treated, but did not specify a location.

Road conditions were wet at the time. Alcohol was not involved, and both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to the report.

Grove City Ambulance and Fire, Mayo Ambulance and the Meeker County Sheriff's Office also responded to the accident reported at 2:26 p.m. Thursday.

Assault

WILLMAR — A 23-year-old woman reported around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday that she was assaulted by her brother.

The report lists an address on the 800 block of Lake Avenue Northwest but did not mention if the assault occurred there.

Trespassing

WILLMAR — A 43-year-old man was asked to leave a property around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday following a report of a fight on the 1200 block of Elizabeth Avenue Southeast. According to the report, when officers arrived they separated the parties involved, and the man was told he would be arrested and cited for trespassing if he returned to the property

Burglary

WILLMAR — A 40-year-old man reported around 5:50 p.m. Wednesday that his cousin’s stuff was stolen from his apartment on the 400 block of Lakeland Drive Southeast.

According to the report, someone came into the apartment through a window and took some items from the apartment.
