Arrests
WILLMAR - A 42-year-old man was arrested around 1:12 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and 26th Avenue Northeast for driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety.
Theft
KANDIYOHI - A landlord reported at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday that keys had been stolen from a secure location within a building in the 300 block of Seventh Street North.
WILLMAR - It was reported at 2:42 p.m. Wednesday that two-way radios had been stolen from several tractors in the 4700 block of U.S. Highway 71.
WILLMAR - A burglary was reported at
3:10 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Eighth Street Southwest.
WILLMAR - An electric, green lawn mower was reported stolen at 9:22 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of 13th Street Southwest.
WILLMAR - A business reported theft of money by an employee at 1:08 p.m. Thursday in the 5300 block of Eighth Avenue Northeast.
WILLMAR - It was reported at 1:27 p.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of Trott Avenue Southeast that a vehicle was reportedly damaged and a purse and radio stolen from the vehicle.

Kandiyohi County
WILLMAR - Dylan Lee Malvin, 20, of Willmar, made his first appearance Wednesday on a felony charge of domestic assault stemming from a March 28 incident in Willmar.
Malvin was granted a public defender Wednesday. Bail was set at $25,000 and another court appearance was scheduled for May 26.
According to the criminal complaint on the charge, a Willmar police officer was dispatched March 28 to a residence in southwest Willmar. He reportedly spoke with a woman at the residence, who said Malvin had suffocated her after an argument.
The woman said Malvin allegedly took his hand and covered her nose and mouth and held her down. She said Malvin held her down for a few minutes and she got him to stop by biting his hand.
According to the criminal complaint on the charge, she then reportedly tried to call the police, but Malvin kept her phone from her. He eventually gave her the phone and she left the residence.
Another officer interviewed Malvin, who said he had gotten into an argument with the woman over cell phones. He said she was trying to get his cell phone from him. Somewhere in the tussle, he said, the woman bit him in the hand, according to the criminal complaint.

WILLMAR - James John Fernholz, 29, of Murdock, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a charge of felony criminal vehicular operation for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident that injured two people.
As a result of the plea agreement, an additional charge of criminal vehicular operation, along with a gross misdemeanor charge of failing to stop at a collision and two driving while impaired charges, will be dismissed at the time of sentencing.
According to the criminal complaint on the charges, Fernholz was traveling westbound on 157th Avenue Northwest when he allegedly failed to stop at the intersection with 140th Street Northwest.
His pickup truck skidded on the frosty road and collided with a sedan driven by Alexander Melvi Holtberg-Woltjer, 17, of Sunburg.
Fernholz allegedly tried to flee the scene of the accident, but his license plate fell off of his pickup truck and was left at the scene.
Holtberg-Woltjer reportedly suffered a concussion in the crash. His passenger, Wanda Sue Gjerde, 36, of Sunburg, suffered hip injuries, according to the criminal complaint.
