One injured in two-vehicle crash near Renville
RENVILLE — A Fairfax woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident Thursday night on U.S. Highway 212 near Renville.
Five others, including two children, escaped injury.
According to the State Patrol, a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Maria Antonia Avalos, 47, of Fairfax, was going west on Highway 212 when it collided with a 2008 Pontiac G6 driven by John James Ulrich, 42, of Renville, that was also going west on Highway 212.
The State Patrol report said the two vehicles collided in the roadway, but did not provide any further details regarding the nature of the crash.
Alcohol was not a factor and roads were dry at the time of the accident, which was reported at 9:13 p.m.

Avalos was taken to Renville County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
Three passengers in her vehicle, Mark Anthony Avalos, 12, of Renville, Serenity Faith Avalos-Greg, 8, of Renville and Roy Ramirez Jr., 26, of Renville were not injured.
Ulrich, and a passenger in his vehicle, Morgan Elyse Maria Miho, 32, of Renville, were not injured.
All parties were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
DUI
WILLMAR — A 34-year-old person was arrested around 10:20 p.m. Thursday for fourth-degree DUI and open bottle on the corner of Minnesota Avenue Southeast and Ninth Street Southeast in Willmar.
Assault
WILLMAR — An assault on staff was reported around 6 p.m. Thursday at a property on the 1800 block of Technology Drive Northeast.
According to the report, the Kandiyohi County Attorney has been sent the information for review.
Domestic call
RAYMOND — Kandiyohi Sheriff Office deputies responded to a domestic call around 5 p.m. Thursday on the 300 block of Cofield Street South in Raymond.
