DNR confiscates animals, firearms after peacock shooting
WILLMAR — Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a weapons complaint around 8:45 p.m. Thursday on the 6000 block of 71st Avenue Northwest.
According to the report, there was a report of someone shooting a peacock in their grove.
Members of the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office located individuals returning to retrieve the peacock; the individuals then fled on foot.
A K-9 unit from the Willmar Police Department assisted with tracking the fleeing suspects into the grove.
The individuals later returned to the vehicle where law enforcement found multiple dead animals and two firearms.

The vehicles and firearms were seized by DNR officers.
Pills stolen
WILLMAR — Staff at a halfway house reported approximately 50 pills were stolen around 9:45 p.m. Thursday on the 600 block of Trott Avenue Southwest.
According to the report, about 30 Oxycodone and 20 Tizanidine pills were taken.
Oxycodone is an opioid and a controlled substance. Tizanidine is a muscle relaxer and not a controlled substance but can be abused.
The suspect is currently unknown and the staff was working on ensuring pills stayed secured.

NEW LONDON — A parent reported around 9 a.m. Friday on the 200 block of Mill Street Southeast their son was “jumped” the night prior in New London.
Domestic
RAYMOND — A domestic was reported around 10:30 a.m. Friday on the 200 block of Second Street in Raymond.
