Drug arrests

WILLMAR — A 37-year-old St. Paul man and a 32-year-old Lauderdale man were arrested after members of the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force witnessed them make a drug transaction around 1:33 a.m. Friday in the parking lot of a Willmar business, according to a CEE-VI Task Force news release.

According to the release, the men are facing first-degree controlled substance charges after law enforcement recovered more than two ounces of cocaine, several thousand dollars in cash, marijuana, digital scales, drug packaging material and handgun ammunition during the incident.

The men are currently being held at the Kandiyohi County jail and the case is still under investigation.

The task force was assisted by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office and the Willmar Police Department.

Burglary

NEW LONDON — A burglary was reported around 1:15 p.m. Friday on the 5500 block of 195th Avenue Northeast. According to the report, a safe was broken into and a gun and money were taken.

Accident

NEW LONDON — A two-vehicle crash was reported around 7 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Minnesota Highway 9 Northeast and U.S. Highway 71 Northeast. There is no other information available at this time.

Theft

WILLMAR — A theft was reported around 7 p.m. Thursday on the 700 block of 19th Avenue Southeast.

Harassment

WILLMAR — A person whose windshield had been broken two days ago reported around 4 p.m. Friday that two women were threatening to come to their apartment on the 100 block of 14th Street Northwest.

Domestic incident

WILLMAR — A person reported around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday that they had been punched in the face on the 600 block of 16th Street Southwest.

According to the report, the assailant left prior to law enforcement’s arrival. The victim told officers that he did not want to press charges.

He was taken to Rice Memorial hospital in Willmar for a cut on the back of his head he suffered from falling on the ground as he was intoxicated.
