Arrests

WILLMAR — A 28-year-old man was arrested on assault charges late Friday night on the 700 block of 11th Street Southwest.

As of Sunday afternoon, the man is listed as in custody awaiting formal charges related to his arrest.

WILLMAR — A 22-year-old man was arrested on a Kandiyohi County warrant Friday afternoon on the 1100 block of Second Street Southeast.

As of Sunday afternoon, the man is listed as in custody in the Kandiyohi County Jail awaiting formal vehicle tampering charges.

WILLMAR — A 33-year-old man was arrested early Saturday morning during a traffic stop on the 300 block of Seventh Street Northwest.

As of Sunday afternoon, the man is listed as in custody in the Kandiyohi County Jail awaiting a formal drug charge.

WILLMAR — A 38-year-old man was arrested on a Stearns County warrant late Saturday night during a traffic stop on the 300 block of 28th Avenue Southeast.

As of Sunday afternoon, the man is listed as in custody in the Kandiyohi County Jail awaiting a charge related to his arrest.

WILLMAR — A 34-year-old man was arrested Saturday morning on a Department of Corrections warrant on the 500 block of Russell Street Northwest.

As of Sunday afternoon, the man is listed as in custody in the Kandiyohi County Jail awaiting a charge related to his arrest.

Crashes

WILLMAR — A crash with injuries was reported Saturday evening on the 1900 block of the Minnesota Highway 23 Bypass Southwest.

According to the report, a black 2016 Audi Q7 was involved in a crash with a tractor.

WILLMAR — A vehicle reportedly ran into a pole Sunday morning near the intersection of Civic Center Drive Northeast and Transportation Drive Northeast.

No injuries are listed in the report.

Stolen sheds

NEW LONDON — A caller reported Friday afternoon that two sheds had been stolen from their property on the 25000 block of 12th Street Northwest.

Burn out

WILLMAR — A caller reported Saturday evening that a Pontiac Firebird was during burnouts on a bridge near and at the intersection of County Road 9 and North Eagle Lake Road.

According to the report, law enforcement say burn out marks on the bridge and the intersection but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Olivia police officer on administrative leave after being charged with felony harassment in Scott County

Rebecca Anne Pieper, 40, of Louisville Township, has been a full-time police officer for the Olivia Police Department since July 6, 2021. She is accused of sending obscene packages to people involved in a child custody case.

Judge rules Vossen incompetent to stand trial in 1974 Willmar homicide, orders screening for civil commitment

Algene Vossen, 80, is charged with second-degree murder in the 1974 killing of Mabel "Mae" Agnes Boyer Herman in Willmar. A District Court judge has ruled him incompetent to stand trial and ordered screening for civil commitment.

Granite Falls man sentenced to 39 months for selling drugs to confidential informant

Danny Torres, 36, of Granite Falls, was sentenced to 39 months for felony third-degree narcotics drug sale after pleading guilty in August. According to the complaint, Torres sold more than 25 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant.

Lukus Alen Scheer, 21, of Redwood Falls, is charged with multiple felonies in connection with the alleged rape of a 13-year-old in October on a rural Franklin road and of a 14-year-old in a Franklin residence.
