Two injured when car swerves to avoid deer
GRANITE FALLS - Two people were injured early Monday morning in Yellow Medicine County in a crash involving a deer.
The accident was reported at 12:48 a.m. on U.S. Highway 59, south of 210th Avenue.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2005 Cadillac Deville, driven by Salvador Pena, 41, of Fulda, swerved to miss a deer, ran off the road and rolled.

Pena and a passenger, Kimberly Ann Remer, 33, of St. Paul, were taken to the Granite Falls Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
Two injured in Willmar crash
WILLMAR - Two men were injured Sunday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 West and Kandiyohi County Road 5.
According to a news release from the Willmar Police Department, a 2012 Chevrolet Impala Kaafi Ali Adeys, 29, of Sauk Rapids, had crashed into the railroad crossing arm control system while turning the corner.
Adeys and passenger Mursal Fatah Shire, 27, of Waite Park were both transported to Rice Memorial Hospital by Willmar Ambulance.
According to the release, authorities believe a controlled substance may have contributed to the crash, and the investigation is continuing.
Assisting the Willmar Police Department were the Willmar Fire Department, Willmar Ambulance and Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad.

Property damage
WILLMAR - Teenagers reportedly broke a window at a shed behind the Area Learning Center and ran away Sunday afternoon on Eighth Street Southwest in Willmar.
Theft
WILLMAR - A checkbook was reported stolen from a car in the 400 block of First Street South. The theft was reported Monday morning.
SPICER - The theft of a "Smith for School Board" sign was reported early Sunday afternoon in the 12000 block of 42nd Street Northeast.
