KINGSTON TOWNSHIP, MEEKER COUNTY - A child playing with matches seems to have started a fire at a rural Kingston Township home. The child's mother suffered burns on her wrist as she attempted to extinguish the fire.

According to the Meeker County Sheriff, at 3:05 p.m. Thursday, the Sheriff's Office along with the Kimball Fire Department and Kimball Rescue were called to a residence at the 71500 block of 330th Street in Kingston Township after a report of a fire.

The mother was treated at the scene and no other injuries were reported. Approximately $1,000 in damage was done to the house.
