This is the records summary for Oct. 9. Man airlifted to hospital after falling onto driveway LITCHFIELD -A 24-year-old Hector man was airlifted to the hospital Wednesday morning after he fell 20 feet onto a driveway while trimming trees on a property south of Litchfield.
Troy Melsha was thrown off the platform of a Lull lift when the lift tipped over. The accident was reported around 11:30 a.m. in the 19300 block of 612th Avenue in Greenleaf Township, according to a news release from the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office.
Melsha was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield and then flown by Life Link III to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale for treatment of his injuries.
The operator, Ryan Kramer, 23, Hector, was raising the platform at the time of the accident. Kramer reportedly was not injured.
Responding to the accident were Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, Litchfield Rescue, Litchfield Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance. The accident remains under investigation by the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office.
Accident Wednesday injures Dassel man

DASSEL - An accident Wednesday morning north of Dassel injured an 18-year-old man and totaled his car.
Zachary Grochow was driving northbound in his Pontiac Grand Am GT around 10 a.m. on Minnesota Highway 15 near 235th Street in Dassel Township when the vehicle’s steering malfunctioned. Grochow’s car left the highway, struck a culvert and rolled, according to a news release from the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office.
Responding to the accident were the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office and Dassel Fire Department & Rescue. Grochow was transported by a private party to the Hutchinson Hospital.
Arrests

WILLMAR - A 19-year-old man was arrested pending charges of driving while impaired, driving after suspension and no proof of insurance Tuesday afternoon in the 1600 block of 11th Avenue Northeast in Willmar.
WILLMAR - A 49-year-old was arrested pending domestic assault charges Tuesday evening in the 400 block of Charlotte Street Southeast in Willmar.
Theft

WILLMAR - A theft was reported Tuesday evening in the 2400 block of Williams Parkway Southwest in Willmar.
District Court Kandiyohi County

WILLMAR - Two Willmar women made their first court appearances Wednesday on felony charges for allegedly stealing a debit card and charging more than $530 of purchases.
Sharika Latoya Webb, 25, faces three felony charges of aggravated forgery and a felony charge of financial transaction card fraud. Johnie Marie Tomlinson, 58, faces two felony charges of aggravated forgery and a gross misdemeanor charge of financial transaction card fraud.
The two women were released on their own recognizance and will make their next court appearances Oct. 20.
According to the criminal complaint, a woman reported unauthorized use of her debit card on Aug. 27. She said she lost the card two days prior while she was at Arby’s in Willmar and all of the charges were made that day, Aug. 25.
The unauthorized purchases were made at Tobacco Shop, Foot Locker, Radio Shack, Panda Garden, Cash Wise Foods and Super America. Video footage and receipts from these businesses reportedly showed evidence of Webb and Tomlinson making these purchases.
Arby’s reported that Webb was an employee and was working at the time the woman’s debit card was reported missing.
WILLMAR - Hayden Levi Hansen, 18, Spicer, made his first court appearance Tuesday on a juvenile charge of felony second-degree assault for allegedly pointing a gun at his neighbor.
While Hansen just turned 18, his case is considered a juvenile matter because he was 17 at the time of the incident. Felony juvenile cases of 16- and 17-year-olds are public record. Hansen will make his next court appearance Oct. 24.
According to the criminal complaint, a trooper responded to a radio call Monday from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office that a neighbor pointed a gun at another neighbor in the 200 block of Fifth Avenue North in Spicer.
The trooper arrived on scene and was approached by the alleged victim, who identified Hansen as the suspect.
Another trooper arrived and the two troopers detained Hansen at gunpoint and placed him in a squad car. Hansen reportedly told one of the troopers that he thought his neighbor stole his truck keys as collateral for a phone he borrowed.
A Kandiyohi County sheriff’s deputy then arrived on scene and interviewed the alleged victim, who reported that Hansen reached into his truck and pointed a gun at her after an argument escalated. She reportedly told the officer she felt terrified and scared for her life.
Hansen was later interviewed and said he did not have a gun. A sergeant searched the property and Hansen’s truck and did not find a gun.
According to the criminal complaint, Hansen also currently faces assault charges in Meeker County.
WILLMAR - Benito Jesus Mireles, 33, Willmar, faces felony charges of theft and third-degree burglary for allegedly stealing more than $3,650 worth of items from a Willmar residence.
Mireles failed to make his first court appearance Wednesday and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
According to the criminal complaint, a woman reported to law enforcement July 16 that she found several items were taken from her residence on July 14 when she returned home. She reported that multiple people told her Mireles took the items between June 5 and June 10.
The items reported stolen included a desktop computer and monitor, flatscreen TV, iPad, laptop, netbooks, a GPS and miscellaneous movies, video games, jewelry and clothes.
It was also reported that Mireles took a snowblower, lawn mower and air compressor belonging to the woman and tried to sell the items to a neighbor. The items were reportedly later returned to the woman by her neighbor.
