Comfrey man injured in crash near Lamberton

LAMBERTON — A Comfrey man suffered minor injuries around 10:19 p.m. Saturday after his vehicle left the road and went airborne near the intersection of Redwood County Road 15 and Jade Avenue, according to the Redwood County Sheriff's Office.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Cody Matthew Bedner, 23, was traveling eastbound on County Road 15 when he left the road and entered the south ditch.

His 1996 Chevrolet club cab pickup hit the embankment of Jade Avenue, causing the vehicle to become airborne over the road, landing in the west ditch. The truck eventually came to a stop about 200 feet from the intersection.

Bedner was transported to Carris Health in Redwood Falls for minor injuries and the vehicle sustained extensive damage.

The crash is currently under investigation.


Lamberton ambulance, fire and police also responded to the scene.

DWI arrest

SPICER — An 18-year-old man was arrested for fourth-degree driving while impaired and fifth-degree drug possession around 1:41 a.m. Sunday on the 150 block of Lake Avenue South.

Warrant arrest

WILLMAR — A 28-year-old man was arrested on a Redwood County warrant around 9:04 a.m. Monday on the 300 block of Becker Avenue Southwest.

Broken windows

WILLMAR — A man reported that his bedroom window was broken around 12:53 a.m. Monday on the 1300 block of 17th Street Southwest.

WILLMAR — A juvenile reported there was damage done to their windshield around 10:56 p.m. Sunday on the 500 block of 11th Street Southwest.


KERKHOVEN — A party reportedly fell out of a moving vehicle around 11:12 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and 175th Avenue Southeast.

According to the report, the person was picked back up and the vehicle headed into Swift County.

Suspicious person

SPICER — Around 8:55 a.m. Sunday, Kandiyohi County sheriff's deputies responded to a suspicious person sleeping in a woman’s car in her garage on the 12000 block of 13th Street Northwest.


According to the report, when deputies arrived, they located the suspect, who was not known to the complainant, still asleep in the garage.

The 20-year-old suspect, who was intoxicated, lives about 10 houses down from where he was found. He was cited for underage consumption.

Party bus

SPICER — Around 12:19 a.m. Sunday, Kandiyohi County sheriff's deputies responded to an alcohol offense call at Zorbaz on the 150 block of Lake Avenue South.

According to the report, deputies helped get drunk riders of a party bus back onto the bus and out of the parking lot.

Stolen sign

WILLMAR — A political sign was reported stolen around 9:44 a.m. Monday from a property on the 900 block of Irene Avenue Southeast.
