WILLMAR -- The 14th annual Kandiyohi County Relay for Life is tonight at the Willmar Junior High School.
Activities start at 5:30 p.m. with games, music, juggling, a rock-climbing wall and a turkey supper that will be served until 8:30 p.m.
The opening ceremony is at 6 p.m. A lighting ceremony, during which more than 3,000 luminaries lining the track will be lit, is at 8:30 p.m. It will include an honorary lap around the track by cancer survivors and recognition of teams and sponsors. The closing ceremony is at 6 a.m. Saturday.
All events are open to the public. Cancer survivors are invited to register at the survivor tent and participate in the honorary lap tonight. Volunteers also are welcome to come this afternoon to help set up, or to come Saturday morning to help clean up.
