Renville County to host drainage meeting for landowners on Wednesday in Olivia

OLIVIA -- Landowners in Renville County have the opportunity to hear about county plans for a re-determination of benefits on drainage systems at a meeting at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the lower level of the Central Office Building in Olivia.

The Renville County board of commissioners is looking at beginning a systematic, re-determination of benefits for ditch systems in upcoming years.

Attorney Kurt Deter of

St. Cloud, who specializes in drainage law, and Ron Ringquist, of the Minnesota Drainage Viewers Association, will outline how the re-determination process works.

The county is looking at launching the re-determination of benefits process this year with County Ditch 132 and two smaller systems, County Ditches 51 and 39, being considered
