GRANITE FALLS - Law enforcement was alerted Wednesday to what was thought to have been a threatening situation near Granite Falls Municipal Hospital.
The situation turned out to be a false alarm, however, George Gerlach, hospital administrator, said during a Tribune interview.
It was thought that a person was holding a shotgun and standing in an alley next to the south side of the building, located at the intersection of Fourth Street and 11th Avenue. Law enforcement, however, discovered that the person was holding a pellet gun, Gerlach said.
“It sounded like a pretty innocent situation. The police were all over it. There is nothing to be concerned about, according to them,” Gerlach said.
The Granite Falls Police Department is investigating and did not have information to release by deadline Wednesday.
