Richard Heida

RAYMOND -- Richard Heida, 86, of Raymond died Sunday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Raymond. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Raymond.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

He was born April 13, 1921, west of Raymond, to Nick and Lena (Smit) Heida. He grew up in Raymond and received his education at the Raymond School.
He married Annette Dikken on July 19, 1945, near Sacred Heart. They lived in Raymond above the Condon's Store. They moved south of Raymond before moving to her parents' farm near Sacred Heart. From 1950 to 1971 they lived on a farm northwest of Raymond. They then moved into Raymond. He was a farmer most of his life until his retirement in 1983. He also drove sugar beet truck, worked for Tebben Manufacturing, Steffen Implement and Willmar Manufacturing. He moved to the El Ca Ba Apartments in 2005. After retirement, he worked for other farmers.
He delivered Meals on Wheels and was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Lions Club in Raymond.
He is survived by two sons: Dalen (and Vickie) Heida of Spencer, Iowa, and Bradley (and Judy) Heida of Raymond; one daughter: Sandra (and David) Odden of Staples; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother: Bert Heida of Raymond; and three sisters: Marie (and Bill) Tammen of Clara City, Gertrude (and Albert) Haats of Raymond and Jeanette Tebben of Clara City.
He was preceded in death by his wife in May 2005; two sons: Barry, at birth, and Gary in 1971; one sister; and four brothers, two in infancy.
