NEW LONDON -- Richard J. "Dick" "Tulie" Miller, 76, of New London died Tuesday at Rice Care Center in Willmar.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in New London.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home in New London and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

He was born June 11, 1930, to Julius and Clara (Anderson) Miller. He attended New London Elementary School and graduated from New London High School in 1948.

He married Betty Lou Carstens on June 17, 1950, in Belgrade. They lived in New London. He worked at Sears in Willmar until 1969, when he became the manager at Westburne Plumbing and Heating Supply in Willmar. He retired in 1987.

He was on the Trinity Lutheran Church Council, president and charter member of the Little Crow Country Club, and a charter member of the New London Hunting Club. He was also a member of the New London and Willmar Fire Departments, Ducks Unlimited, Willmar Elks Club, Willmar Lions Club, New London Commercial Club, Isaac Walton League, and New London Bowling League.

He is survived by his wife; children: Mona (and Stephen) Tait of Spicer, Dana (and Fran) Miller of New London, Jeffrey (and Jane) Miller of Willmar, Kevin (and Joy) Miller of Plymouth, Colleen (and Robert) Ostergaard of Ellicot City, Md., Carrie (and Wayne) Nelson of Brainerd; 13 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; one great-grandson; and his siblings: Marion Dalhberg of New London, Howard Miller of Farmington, and Jerome Miller of New London.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; one brother and one sister.
