BRAINERD -- The Ridgewater Lady Warriors mowed down Mesabi Range, but fell to its biggest rival, Central Lakes, on Saturday afternoon at the college in Brainerd.
The Lady Warriors looked sharp in putting down Mesabi of Virginia 25-11, 23-25, 25-13 and 25-19.
But against the Raiders, Ridgewater struggled with its serves. Fifteen services errors and a sub-par .122 hitting percentage prevented the Lady Warriors from building momentum.
"We were always playing from behind and never got into a rhythm," said coach Joe Sussenguth. "Central Lakes played well but we beat ourselves."
Stephanie Tillman had 12 kills in the first match with only one error. Carina Fesenmaier set the ball for 41 assists and served up eight aces with six errors. Leah Miller and Jordan Olerud added eight kills each.

Darcie Listul added six ace serves and supplied 14 digs.
Against Central Lakes, which Ridgewater beat in a three-game match a week earlier in Willmar, Olerud had seven kills, Tillman six and Emma Koeberl five.
Ridgewater travels to Worthington on Wednesday for a MCAC Southern Division meeting with Minnesota West.
