BRAINERD -- The Ridgewater women's basketball team capped a two-win Central Lakes Invitational by beating host Central Lakes, 58-49, Saturday.
The teams were tied 23-23 at halftime, then Ridgewater outscored Central Lakes 35-36 in the final 20 minutes.
"We finally hit the big shots when we needed them in the second half," said Ridgewater coach Carrie Ogdahl.
Hilary Groothuis posted a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Lady Warriors. Tara Thielke added 11 points and five assists, and Emily Mathiowetz had 10 points.
Saturday's game also marks the end of a six-game, nine-day stretch. The Lady Warriors (10-3) won't be in action again until Jan. 2, when they host Riverland in the MCCC Southern Division opener.
