FERGUS FALLS -- Despite owning a 51-36 rebound advantage and making more field goals than MSCTC-Fergus Falls, Ridgewater couldn't snap its losing streak as the Spartans clipped the Warriors 70-66 in the MCCC Southern Division Saturday.
Tim Mattern led a group of four players that scored in double figures for Ridgewater with 16 points, but the Warriors committed 21 turnovers and shot only 36 percent from the field in losing their ninth straight game.
The Warriors (0-5, 3-12) led 32-25 at halftime before the Spartans outscored the visitors 45-34 in the second half. Fergus Falls got the best of Ridgewater at the free-throw line as the Spartans went 21-for-33 compared to 7-for-11 performance from the Warriors.
Following Mattern in the scoring column was David Johnson with 13 points, Tim Dreier 11 and Chris LeTendre 10. Johnson also pulled down 20 rebounds.
The Warriors are at Minneapolis on Wednesday for an 8 p.m. game.
