WORTHINGTON -- The Ridgewater wrestling team suffered only two loses on the way to a 34-7 dual win over Minnesota West in the MCCC Southern Division opener Wednesday.
The Warriors won the first five matches, including a pin for freshman Greg Skerik at 141 pounds in 2:27. Justin Turek, a sophomore at 149, won the next match with a 21-8 major decision.
Ted Saatzer, Brad Salveson and Ben Thonvold finished off the Bluejays with consecutive wins. Saatzer, a sophomore at 184, won by decision, Salveson, a freshman at 197, won by technical fall and sophomore Ben Thonvold won by fall at heavyweight.
