WILLMAR - Ridgewater College will be host a State of Manufacturing conference Wednesday afternoon on the Willmar campus to discuss issues the industry faces
The conference will be from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. in the campus student center.
The conference is open to manufacturers and other businesses supporting the industry, educators, elected officials, economic development professionals and granting agencies.
Representatives of Enterprise Minnesota, a business consulting organization, will be on hand to discuss the organization’s seventh annual State of Manufacturing survey. The group conducted phone surveys with 400 Minnesota manufacturing executives, seven of whom own businesses that are located in Ridgewater College’s service area. Focus groups were held across the state, including at Ridgewater, to understand manufacturer’s perceptions and opinions of current economic conditions and other factors impacting businesses.
Survey data will be analyzed by region to provide greater local insights.
Attendees will receive a book with the results and a summary of the findings.

In 42 years in the newspaper industry, Linda Vanderwerf has worked at several daily newspapers in Minnesota, including the Mesabi Daily News, now called the Mesabi Tribune in Virginia.
