VIRGINIA -- The Ridgewater Lady Warriors returned from the North Country with a 2-0 record after blasting Red River College 79-45 on Saturday morning.
The Lady Warriors play on their home court Tuesday against the Concordia Cobbers junior varsity (6 p.m. tip-off).
The Lady Warriors, who led 37-12 at half, shot 59 percent and got 40 points in the paint. The Winnipeg college, which resumed hoops in 2006 after a 20 year hiatus, tired with only two subs available.
Ridgewater post Brittany Glisczinski made 9 of 11 shots and 18 points; guard Tara Thielke scored 16 and supplied seven assists.
Lisa Nielsen scored 14 points; for the weekend, the first-year center made 13 of 16 shots from the floor and went 8 of 8 at the line.

Lisa Chinander added eight points and eight rebounds and Emily Mathiowetz 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
Coach Carrie Ogdahl made only one switch in her opening-day line-up starting Glisczinski instead of Mathiowetz. Karen Christopher, Bridget Boehlke, Nielsen and Thielke started both times.
"I think we'll be using quite a few different line-ups," said Ogdahl, adding that it was an encouraging start without leading scorer and rebounder Hilary Groothuis, now free to join the team with the end of volleyball on Sunday.
