ELY -- Hilary Groothuis had 20 points and Tara Thielke added 17 as the Ridgewater Lady Warriors trumped Vermilion 85-49 in junior college women's basketball Saturday.
Ridgewater shot over 50 percent from the field.
"We got a lot of open shots and we were hitting them," said Ridgewater coach Carrie Ogdahl. "We didn't shoot very well from the free-throw line, though."
The Lady Warriors cashed only 6-of-16 free throws, but it hardly mattered as they rumbled to a 53-28 halftime lead and never looked back.
Ridgewater made seven 3-pointers on the day, four of them from Thielke, who had 14 of her points in the first half.

Kylea Seboe led Vermilion with 17 points.
