ROCHESTER -- Jarret Hall finished third in the 165-pound division at the NJCAA National Wrestling Tournament Saturday by going 6-1 to lead a group of three Ridgewater College wrestlers that earned All-America status.
Brandon Schunk, a 133-pound freshman from Wabasso, placed seventh and Justin Turek, a 149-pound sophomore from New Prague, finished eighth to also gain All-America honors.
Hall, a sophomore from Greenbush, won his first two matches before getting pinned by eventual runner-up Chris Wade to drop down to wrestlebacks. Hall then posted two pins and posted two more shutouts, including a 8-0 major decision in the third-place match, to finish the season 27-6. Hall also finished third in 2005.
The efforts of Hall, Schunk and Turek helped Ridgewater placed 11th overall and fourth among Division III schools.
"We expected a little better result since we were down half a point on Friday, but we had a little breakdown," said Warriors coach Jesse Nelson. "But fourth (among Division III schools) is pretty good and having three All-Americans is good."

Schunk pinned his opponent in the seventh-place match while Turek lost a close 3-2 decision in his seventh-place match.
Ridgewater qualified wrestlers in all 10 weight classes from the Region 13 tournament and had nine guys win at least one match at nationals.
"It was a tough tournament," said Nelson. "The brackets were solid all the way through. But as a team we had higher expectations."
